Step inside the machine
Stairs will bring visitors to the top of the Granary with an accessible lift that will accommodate visitors to the Grain Bin Level.
A floating bridge through the bins brings visitors to a unique view north overlooking the waterfront, City, and historic Steel Bridge.
Proposed transformation of the grain bins that once held 30,000 bushels of grain.
Inside the accessible Grain Bin Level of the Door County Granary. Before traversing to the top of the headhouse, visitors will experience interpretive spaces that tell the stories of wood construction, agricultural ingenuity, and the economic evolution of Door County.
Peak-a-boo cut outs provide views from various heights and vantage points as visitors transcend to the top of the Granary.
Views from above the grain elevator’s mechanics. Visitors will be immersed in the original elevator and grain chute system that elevated and stored grain in this massive agricultural machine that is currently hidden within the Granary’s upper levels.
